Javier Jara
He was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. He got a degree in Linguistics and another in Hispanic Letters. He was editor of the independent magazine POESÍANDANTE and published poems in various university newspapers during his student days. He won the Unicorn 2000 prize from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters in the short story category. Translator and interpreter, he has taught languages and literature at various educational levels and is the creator of the ALO teaching system, a linguistic method for teaching languages as a second language, of which he has published four institutional volumes. He is the author of some musical themes performed by groups from the underground scene of his hometown. The author has published three novels, a book of short stories, a collection of poems and four handbooks for language learning.
